Just this week we started putting things back into our house - insulation and I believe that some new wiring will be getting pulled this week along with hopefully the walls in the basement being framed.
Plans are underway for the Grand Reopening of the Gomes house. So far I've come up with the name for the gathering. I hear that that is half the battle.
Some pretty exciting things happened since our last post...I know you've all been anxiously awaiting a post since the end of June. It took a while but we found a place to rent during our reno that would allow us to live with our dogs - the only catch was that it was on the market. But we took the risk because it had been on there for so long - what were the odds it would sell in the next three months. Pretty high, apparently. An offer was put in and accepted on the day we moved in. We literally had just set up everyones beds and got a text from the owner. Our three month rental turned into a month and a half rental. This coupled with ripping out all the plaster/insulation/old flooring from the house took way longer that expected was not good.
A bit of a stressful time was had in trying to find another short term, pet friendly rental but we finally found one last week. It's a teeny basement suite and we have it until the end of October. Here's hoping that at that point we can move home!! Speaking of home, there have been some compromises regarding walls in the basement and getting to paint colours other than grey on the walls. I was pro colour and am excited to say - There will be colour!!
What else - Victoria met an Olympic medal winner - my old Rocker teammate Jen Kish - and got to wear the medal (she checked to make sure it was real by you guessed it putting it in her mouth). She got a third tooth and the fourth looks like it will be here any day. That's about it for now. Hopefully the next update will be sooner rather than later.
