It has now been over a week since we (Barmy Army) successfully completed the Canadian Death Race.
Leg 2 was definitely harder than I was expecting it to be. I knew it was going to be hard but I did not factor in starting it with the temperature in the 20s and over 90% humidity. Somewhere between the two mountain peaks it started raining and then it started hailing. I'm pretty sure it hailed for 30 minutes and rained for around 2??
I ruined a pair of Running tights and my Dr. Seuss shirt sliding down the powerline back into town. I gave everything I had to finish the leg in time so Rocket could get to the 3/4 exchange in time to carry on. I made it and more importantly so did she!

This is a shot of Jill mere moments after she finished the race. The announcer called out a different team name as she turned the corner so none of us were expecting it to be her. As she sprinted past us (she was really flying) Karlee shouted "that's Jill!" We all then piled onto the course and followed her across the line, all the time shouting at the announcer that we were in fact bib #631 - Barmy Army - I'm still amazed that he didn't recognize us!!
To answer all of your questions - we have already talked about doing it again next year!! Thanks for reading all these, mostly boring posts - I did have a few good sentences in one of the posts....didn't I?
