The 2013 CrossFit Open has finished. I'm both happy with my performance and disappointed at the same time.....On one hand I did better on all the movements - was able to finish more double unders, completed 15 more chest to bar pullups, did more burpees and reached all the goals I had set for myself except one. On the other hand, I actually finished 9 places worse than last year.....
When setting my goals for this years competition my only goal for the 5 unknown workouts was to do better than last year.

On another note, I ran 5.5 miles one night last week in under an hour. I decided to try running in daylight and not on snow. It was great! I ran on the bike trails from my house across the 50th street man bridge to Rundle park, across that bridge through Gold Bar and then back home. I didn't quite get the distance correct and RunKeeper told me I was done a few blocks from home. So I did what any person training for a 27 km run through the mountains would do - I stopped running and walked. I also texted Bryan to pour be a couple of glasses of water so they'd be ready when I got home!
I have signed up to do a 10 km night race at the end of the month in Fort Saskatchewan. I'm running the race with one of my death race teammates - she is running the 5th leg and will be running during the night.
This weekend the plan is to run 6 miles (plus a 5 minute warmup jog) and hit Champ City CrossFit twice and help my friend Nixon celebrate his 6th birthday. Should be a busy weekend!!
